The Forsyth County School System serves 22,048 students. All 23 schools are accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and have exceeded the standards as defined and measured by the Georgia Department of Education.
Elementary School:
Midway Elementary School
Midway Elementary School was a recipient of the 2006 Georgia School of Excellence Award. Midway is a school where they strive for student success by actively involving students in quality work. The school motto, Midway. . . Where all students succeed, reflects the schools belief and their commitment to a quality integrated curriculum. Midway seeks to provide a clear outline of content to be learned grade by grade. Their belief and practice is that academics should not be taught in isolation, but in an interdisciplinary model that reflects the kind of experience the students will receive in the real world. They also believe that students should be involved in identifying what they want to learn, understand why they are studying particular academics and be able to explain what knowledge means to them.
Piney Grove Middle School
Piney Grove Middle School opened its doors in August of 2007. This amazing school prides itself on achieving excellence in every aspect. Piney Grove offers state of the art technology, exceptional academics along with many extracurricular activities. Piney Grove believes that Knowledge is Power and they also believe in high standards and performance in its curriculum. Programs include a well rounded education with instructional technology, advance scholar programs, foreign language, mathematics, language arts and much more. Piney Grove promotes partnership in education and is a strong advocate of the PTSA in order to support academic enrichment.
South Forsyth High School
South Forsyth High School is committed to preparing students for the performance demands of the future. South Forsyth focuses on improving the quality of instruction in the academic arena as well as the technical career area. The results of their efforts show that students are improving their learning skills and are vastly improving their opportunities to attend college, technical institutes or join the workforce. During 4 years of high school, block scheduling is utilized to allow graduates to earn 32 Carnegie units.
A wide range of student activities, including athletics, academic teams, foreign language clubs, journalism experiences, instrumental and vocal music organizations, and other special interest/skills clubs are available to interested students. Secondary schools offer additional clubs and honor societies as well as comprehensive athletic programs in both individual and team sports. Scholarship opportunities and Special Programs such as Governor's Honors are available for eligible students as well.
