Elementary School:
Harmony Elementary School
Harmony Elementary School offers over 71% of their teachers holding a Masters degree or higher. The school has an approximate student population of 828. Harmony Elementary strongly pursues the No Child Left Behind Act. With phenomenal testing results, The Average Yearly Progress (AYP) was met or exceeded in every content area. Students continue to make significant gains in academic achievements, meeting all of the State of Georgia academic goals. Consistently high CRCT scores indicate that students are being taught and are learning the curriculum. Research demonstrates that excellent student attendance is directly correlated to higher achievement. Harmony student attendance averaged an amazing 96%.
Glenn C. Jones Middle School
Glenn C. Jones Middle School is new to Mill Creek and has an expected student population of 851. As stated on the School Website, The Recipe for success includes: Supporting student leadership roles, supporting student academic enrichment and Challenging students through academic competitions. The right ingredients are in place to create a truly premier experience for the students. The faculty and staff, parents and community are critical to the success and vital to accomplishing the mission of a school of excellence. Teachers will hold high expectations for the entire student body. Students learn in a variety of ways and will be provided with a variety of instructional approaches and assessments to support their learning. Each student is a valued individual with unique intellectual, physical, social and emotional needs. Glenn C. Jones is expected to be a school of greatness.
Mill Creek High School
Mill Creek High School has approximately 176 full-time classroom teachers and approximate student population of 2,338. Mill Creek High School offers a quality curriculum ranging from College Preparatory to Career Advancement Placement courses, offering students opportunities to focus on Career/Technology, Fine Arts, athletics, and extracurricular activities. The 2003-04 seniors earned about $1.54 million dollars in scholarships in just the first active year of the school. This figure does not count Hope Scholarship proceeds or Military Academies appointments. The school's results were at or above the rest of the district, exceeding the state and RESA in all of the areas tested. With the facilitation of optimal learning, and empowering each student to reach his or her potential though exceptional achievements, students are bound to excel at this magnificent school.
